Terms and conditions for Parents Employing a Nanny

(NB: Please refer to Babysitting Terms & Conditions if a Babysitter solely is required.)


  • I will make the initial point of contact between you the parent and the Nanny.

  • I will offer help and advice with regards to any concerns you may have ie Advice re Tax and NI contributions and will recommend a suitable company for thorough up to date Government guidelines and policies with regards to employing a Nanny.

  • I am happy to send a contract template for your perusal and for you to adjust according to your needs.

  • Once contact has been made between you and the potential Candidate, I will not be responsible for any future communications or involvement, unless further advice or information is requested.

  • I instruct the potential Candidate to act professionally at all times and conduct herself in a well-mannered and respectful way. However I cannot be responsible for any misplaced conduct once you have agreed to employ the person whom you have interviewed.

  • Any arrangements with the candidate as to how you expect her to behave whilst in your home are to be discussed upon interviewing and carried out as per your contract of employment.

  • All monetary communications with regards to employing a Nanny are to be discussed between you and this is to be agreed as per your contract of employment, however I am prepared to discuss salaries and hourly rates if required by you, the parent.

  • All Nannies supplied by Little Scallys Nanny and Babysitting Agency will have been interviewed, references checked, qualifications clarified and Ofsted registered where required to be so. They will also have completed a contract for my records agreeing to my terms and conditions.

  • All accounts and charges are payable in full within seven days of delivery of invoice by Little Scallys Nanny and Babysitting Agency, which will be issued immediately after you have accepted in writing a Candidate for employment.

  • When a temporary position becomes permanent, you will be charged full placement fee.


In the event of any Candidate leaving the employment within three calendar months of the date upon which the Applicant commenced work, you will receive a free replacement depending on a suitable candidate being available at this time and only if the following conditions have been satisfied:

  • The original introduction fee has been paid in accordance with the above terms and conditions.

  • The Agency is advised of the termination of employment of a candidate in writing within 14 days of termination.

  • There was not a change in the job description, or change in the location of the job.

  • The Candidate did not leave the employment because of irrational demands by you or irrational working conditions.

  • If you require a replacement Candidate, The Agency will only offer a maximum of 4 Candidates profiles for your selection.

  • If you find the new Candidate profiles unacceptable, the agency will not be liable.


  • All communication whether written or oral and however communicated, shall be confidential between the parties.

  • Should you the parent pass on any information, including details of Candidates, or recommend a Candidate to a third party resulting in the placement of a Candidate in any domestic position, then you will be liable for the relevant full fee as if the booking had been made by you itself and these terms and conditions shall apply accordingly.


  • The Agency is not responsible for the Parent and Candidate’s contract of employment. These are to be arranged between the Parent and Candidate. However we are happy to offer advice.

  • It is the Parents who are responsible for their employees’ Tax and National Insurance deductions, obtaining work permits and satisfying any medical requirements or qualifications as required by law.
